What to Expect
Starting therapy doesn't have to feel so intimidating.
You don't need to know exactly what to say, what your goals are, or where to begin. We'll figure that out together.
Your First Session
We'll start wherever you are.
Starting therapy can feel a little intimidating, especially when you're not sure what to expect. Your first session is simply a chance for us to get to know each other, talk about what brought you to therapy, and begin identifying what you'd like support with.
There's no pressure to have everything figured out or to share anything before you're ready. We'll talk about what's been going on, what's working, what isn't, and what you hope might feel different.
Most importantly, we'll begin building a relationship where you feel comfortable being yourself. Therapy is collaborative, and we'll find an approach that fits you.
No pressure to have it figured out
No judgment
We'll go at your pace
Our Ongoing Work
Therapy isn't about quick fixes or overnight transformation.
Real change often happens gradually, through small moments that can be easy to overlook.
As we work together, you may begin to notice shifts in how you see yourself, your relationships, or the situations you're navigating. Progress might look like understanding yourself more clearly, responding differently to something that once felt overwhelming, setting a boundary, communicating your needs, or simply recognizing a pattern you hadn't noticed before.
We'll regularly check in about what's changing, what still feels difficult, and whether our work continues to align with your goals.
A New Perspective
You're seeing yourself or a situation a little differently.
How You'll Know You're Making Progress
Progress might look like...
Greater Self-Understanding
You're beginning to understand the “why” behind your thoughts, feelings, and patterns.
A Healthier Boundary
You're getting more comfortable identifying and communicating what you need.
A Different Response
Something that once overwhelmed you feels a little more manageable.
There may not always be one big breakthrough.
The small moments add up.
We'll Check In Along the Way
Therapy is something we'll do together.
We'll regularly talk about what's helping, what isn't, what's changing, and whether our work still feels aligned with your goals. If something isn't working for you, I want you to feel comfortable saying so.
Therapy can change as your needs change—and that's okay.
